The Floor Supervisor is responsible for greeting and engaging guests as they enter the building, “touching tables,” conversing with, and fielding customer queries as they arise, cash handling and deposits, managing To Go orders, and updating the menu board. The Floor Supervisor will supervise and direct FOH food runners, coaching them how to complete all tasks accurately and efficiently, managing their interactions with guests, and providing guidance when an owner-operator is not present. Basic tasks that must be executed include:
Customer engagement
Greet arriving customers
“Touch tables;” make sure customers are satisfied with food and experience
Run food, and bus and clean tables as time allows
Cash handling
Double check till when received upon starting shift and report anomalies
Count down the deposit drop
Organize credit card slips
Count down closing drawer to standard allowance within $5
FOH Staff Supervision
Task out food runner(s) to drop off food, bus tables, complete bathroom checks, tidying the dining room, emptying trash
Train new FOH staff members
Sign off on closing cleanliness of dining room, bathrooms, bar, and front patio
Restock serving supplies like napkins, silverware rollups, to go materials, etc.
Report punctuality, behavior, and work issues from FOH staff members to upper management
Management of Walk-Up and Retail Counter
Take customer orders and answer questions about food and menu options
Update the menu board as necessary
Organize and manage to go orders as they come in and are picked up
Be responsible for the binder of menu items, their sub ingredients, and standard allergens for all FOH staff to access
Assist customers with merch purchases (T-shirt try-ons, answer questions, etc)
Restock retail counter with clothing merch and retail food goods.
Conduct nightly inventory of retail stock. Report low and expired stock overages to Kitchen Operations Manager
